League Rules
General Rules
- 10 teams, each consisting of 2 players. 15 weeks total.
- Prize money and secretary fees are due by the first week.
- Schedule is preset aside from position rounds. Team numbers are randomly assigned at the beginning of the year via an online random number generator.
- Each team will play each other at least once.
- The two players with the lowest handicaps from each team play head-to-head, as do the two players with the higher handicaps.
- There is a total of 21 points per match.
- 18 Hole Points — For each hole, 1 point is available per match (A vs A, B vs B). Lower net score wins the point. Tied net scores split the point (0.5 each).
- 3 Match Points — The team with the lower combined net score wins 3 bonus points. If a sub is present, the lone league member must have a lower net score than both opposing players to earn the 3 points.
- Players and teams are responsible for finding their own subs.
- If you will be out for 3 or more consecutive weeks, you may designate one fill-in who counts as a full league member (including for the 3 match points). This must be communicated to the commissioner before the fill-in plays.
- Weather calls are made by the course. The commissioner will only decide independently in the case of a clear and complete washout.
Special Weeks
Certain weeks of the season are designated as special format weeks based on standings at that point in the season. Matchups for these weeks are seeded from the current league standings rather than the preset schedule. Tiebreakers are resolved using head-to-head points between tied teams, then cumulative head-to-head match points.
POSITIONAL — MID
Played at the midpoint of the season. Teams are ranked by current standings and paired consecutively:
1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, 5th vs 6th, and so on. The top matchup gets the first tee time.
A good week to make a move — points count the same as any regular week.
POSITIONAL — END
Played near the end of the regular season. Teams are paired top-to-bottom by standings:
1st vs 10th, 2nd vs 9th, 3rd vs 8th, and so on. The top matchup gets the first tee time.
Points count the same as any regular week and factor into playoff seeding.
NET PLAY
Matchups are seeded by each team’s combined net score from the previous week — the team
with the lowest combined net score that week earns the top seed and plays the second-lowest, and so on.
Points count the same as any regular week.
SEMIFINAL
The first of the final two playoff weeks. The top 4 teams by season standings compete:
1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd. The team earning the most points that week advances to the Championship.
In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances.
CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
The last week of the season. Semifinal winners play for 1st and 2nd place; semifinal losers play for 3rd.
Every hole has both a Long Drive and Closest to the Pin contest.
Prize money is paid out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.
Skill Contests
- Each standard week has 1 long drive and 1 closest to the pin contest. Every hole has both a Long Drive and Closest to the Pin contest during the Semifinal and Championship Final weeks.
- Two separate prize pools with winners chosen by drawing at the end of the year: Long Drive Pool ($100) and Closest to the Pin Pool ($100).
- Each weekly contest win earns one drawing entry. Multiple wins earn multiple entries.
Birdie Bounty
- Optional contest. Entry must be paid with league dues before week 1.
- At the end of each round, the last person to putt draws a chip numbered 1–9. A lone birdie on the drawn hole wins the pot. Multiple birdies or no birdies rolls the pot over to the following week.
- Eagles count the same as a birdie.
- If you have a sub and are in the bounty group, the sub can play to cancel someone out and keep the pot alive, but cannot win the pot.
